Born in Sydney Australia, Barry gained early recognition in music theatre, appearing in 'Jesus Christ Superstar' in Sydney, & Melbourne, then in 'Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' at the Seymour Centre, Sydney. He was composer for the world famous Lindsay Kemp Mime Company, performing in their productions of 'Flowers' in Melbourne, & composing the music for Kemp's production of Oscar Wilde's 'Salome', a sell out for 18 months at London's Roundhouse . He has worked with many of the leading names in Australian music including the 80s chart-toppers 'The Ferrets', has opened for guitar maestro Ry Cooder & toured as band leader for the legendary diva Eartha Kitt.

Described as 'the Charles Bronson of swamp blues' by someone who ought to know better, Barry has fascinating music industry credits to his name, and has most recently appeared in the lead role of his self-penned theatre show on the life of Johnny Cash: "I Hear That Train a-Comin' "- a sell-out success in clubs & theatres across Australia.

He's "the doctor" because he's earnt a PhD in multimedia design. With a rich, deep voice (reminiscent of Nick Cave, Johnny Cash & Leonard Cohen) Barry is an accomplished electric & acoustic guitarist with exciting flamenco skills. He also turns his hand to boogie & swing style piano. Byron Bay legend.
As a long-time resident of the Byron Bay region he established himself as a pioneer of the local music scene in the early 80s, becoming a consistent and popular entertainer at all the leading local venues and on the Gold Coast & in Brisbane for over three decades. He performs regularly as a soloist and in an interesting variety of musical combinations which are profiled on this website, & has had great success as an entertainer for many beautiful Byron Bay weddings.
